A delicious mixture of grenadine and vanilla, this ancient blend was considered to be good for the soul by many orders of monks. Caffeinated without being overpowering, Monk’s Blend will help you focus late into the night: perfect for meditation, or for writing that last minute essay! This tea’s flavour is sweet and robust; it gives you that great, strong black tea taste, but tempers and complements it with floral, fruity notes.
Preparation suggestions: Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1tsp of tea for each cup into teapot. Add boiling water, cover and let steep 3 - 7 minutes. Add milk and sugar to taste if desired.
Ice tea (1 litre) : 6 teaspoons of tea in a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of boiling water and infuse for 5 minutes. Add cold water and ice for a total of one litre. Add your favourite ingredients and sugar to taste. Note that this tea can form a thin, milky skin when ice is added to it. It’s a normal characteristic of high quality black teas – nothing to fear!
