How to clean your silicone cups?

Home use :

Simply wash the cups with warm water and mild soap after each use. Rinse thoroughly and let them air dry completely before storing.

For professional or clinic :

If you’re working in a professional setting, always follow your clinic’s hygiene and disinfection protocols. Many clinics require the use of medical-grade disinfectants or alcohol-based cleaners to meet health and safety standards.

Our  general recommendation is to start by washing the cups with soap and water to remove any oils or residue. Once fully dry, soak them in a high-level disinfectant solution containing one of the following:

  • 2% glutaraldehyde
  • 7.5% hydrogen peroxide
  • 0.2% peracetic acid
  • 2–7% enhanced action hydrogen peroxide
  • 0.55% ortho-phthalaldehyde (OPA)

Let the cups soak for at least 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and allow them to air dry.

Does cupping cause bruising?

Although cupping is generally considered a safe treatment, there can be some undesirable and unpleasant side effects, especially with subsequent treatment or after treatment. However, bruising is normal and frequent, especially after repeated treatments. These marks are not painful and typically fade within a few days.

In the case of cupping, the bruising is not from trauma but rather a result from the stagnant blood being drawn to the surface during the treatment. The resulting discolouration comes from small blood vessels breaking in the treated area, which may lead to mild hematomas..
