ANNOUNCEMENT: NEW CUPPING CLASSES IN August

 

Starting on August 12nd, Jacques Tétreault will be teaching cupping classes at the beginner, intermediary and expert levels in our Laval classrooms. Tétreault has established himself for the past three decades as a renowned and pioneering expert in osteopathy, acupuncture and massotherapy; his innovative approach integrates these areas of expertise to provide a truly holistic therapeutic method. 

  • Taking the Level 1 course is a prerequisite for Level 2. Students who wish to register for Level 2 must have completed Level 1.

  • Students registering for Level 1 to 3 simultaneously are eligible for $96.00 in savings, the total only $549.

  • We reserve rights to change or cancel the dates of the classes up to one week before the class, with prior notice. 

  • Students can cancel their registration up to a week before the class and receive a full refund. Cancellations up to three days before class will receive a 30% refund; cancellations less than 3 days before the class are not refunded.

  • The Level 1 course inscription fee includes a set of eight silicone cups.(value: $49.99 plus tax)

WHAT:  
Cupping classes(Level1 – Level3)


Level 1: Basics [ 6:30 hours total: ratio : 2 hours of theory; 4:30 hours practice ]

  • Basics : history, evolution of treatments and of forms, general effect, applications, advantages, indications and counter-indications, length of treatments, clientele, combination with massotherapy, acupuncture, osteopathy, shiatsu, drainage.
  • Applications : number of cups (one, two and more), types of vacuum, shape and material.
  • Palpation and pinch-and-roll, gliding pressure, direct pressure. Application zones: back 50%, neck 10%, shoulders and arms 15%, pelvis and legs 15%, face 5%, abdomen 5%.
  • Instructions for dry cupping, or with substances such as oils, creams, oitnments, combined with essential oils, ricin, mixed with heat, shungite, and other modalities
  • Physiological and psychological effects on: muscles, central nervous system, blood and circulation, bruises and lymphatic system fascias, joints, skin, inflammation, adherences and scars.
  • Motions: static, mobile or mixed, advantages.
  • Pressure and vacuum: neutral, lifted and pushed, deformed according to surface and skin characteristics (suppleness, hydratation, intoxication, etc.) according to tissues: soft, muscle, fascia, tendons, joints, bones, heel and palm, face according to pain and tolerance level
  • Methods: gliding, slow, fast, trembling, vibration, longitudinal or lateral rotation in one direction, opposed, continuous, one after the other, on the same treatment area, on two different zones, with similar or different movements.
  • Intensity: gradual, from weak to intense, according to desired progression, to pain, to adherence and to scars relationship to the treatment area, speed / vacuum,  type of tissu, elasticity of the skin.

 

Level 2: Upper part of the body [ 6:30 hours total: ratio : 1:30 hours of theory; 5 hours practice ]  / Therapeutic level with treatment protocol 

  • Combination with traditional Chinese medicine, using meridians and acupuncture points, Ah points.
  • Palpation and trigger points work, referent pain zones and other reflex points.
  • Use of heat, therapeutic objects (scratch or press down), other complements.
  • Zones and pathologies:
    • neck: stiffness, pains, spasms, cramps.
      • ain shoulder: tendinitis, bursitis, capsulitis, stiffness, pain.
      • upper part of the body: epicondylitis, epitrochleitis, carpal tunnel, trigger finger, disorders of the hands and fingers.
      • back: cramps, adhesions, spasms, pain, stiffness laboured breathing.
      • face: spasms, contracture, sagging, wrinkles.

     

    Level 3: Lower part of the body  [ 6:30 hours total: ratio : 1:30 hours of theory; 5 hours practice ] / Therapeutic level with treatment protocols

    • Combination with traditional Chinese medicine, using meridians and acupuncture points, Ah Shi point.
    • Palpation and trigger points work, referent pain zones and other reflex points.
    • Use of heat, therapeutic objects (scratch or press down), other complements.
    • Zones and pathologies:  
      • Crotch and pelvis: lumbago, sprains, slipped disc.
      • Lower limbs: cellulite, sciatalgies (true and false), joint pains, plantar fasciitis.
      • Tensions in fascia lata and the ilio tibial strip, ankle cramps.
      • Disorders of feet and toes, Lenoir thorn.


    Jacques Tétreault has been a practicing osteopath, acupuncturist and massage therapist for 30 years. His clinical practice blends elements of these disciplines to create a therapeutic synergy that is as efficient at treating internal as external dysfunctions. Besides having owned his own massotherapy schools, he has taught thousands of students in ten schools in Quebec and in New Brunswick. He was also an instructor in osteopathy and in Chinese medicine. Mr Tétreault has taught several techniques, including anatomy and physiology, an integrated therapeutic approach, traditional Chinese medicine basics, e muscular energy, touch evaluation, introductory shiatsu and reflexology, sports massage, osteopathy, polarity, therapeutic Swedish massage and neuromuscular therapy. His teachings have generated the production of around fifty video classes, of which osteomassage is the most developed combined approach.
